Childish Gambino Merchandise Passion Projects

Building communities is something I find very valuable - especially within fandoms. I’m passionate about figuring out ways that design can be accessible and used to bring people together within those spaces. As a side hustle, I create different types of “bootleg” merchandise. All of the money raised from the merch is donated to charity or goes right back into the production of more merch.

This design is a play on Taylor Swift’s iconic Eras Tour merchandise with her portraits being swapped with Donald Glover’s different ‘eras.’

This design is based on a short called ‘Chicken and Futility.’ It went viral within the fandom and was my most popular design by far. The design was cut and pressed onto sweaters using heat transfer vinyl. I produced it myself with a vinyl cutter and a heat press in my garage.

‘The Library’ Merch Archive Passion Project

‘The Library’ is a growing archive of Childish Gambino merchandise that I have personally collected, researched, and documented over the past 8 years. Working with Donald’s former head of merch, my goal is to include every piece of merchandise to date with information covering the designer/artist, product brand, original price, and other details. This prototype showcases a small sample.
